Exposing the enemy-Be ON ALERT!
I am about to start a Bible study to help understand why Christians sin, get tripped up and fall. It is a really important study. It comes down to remembering the 3 things we will always deal with as Christ followers on this earth, the flesh, the world, and the devil.
John clearly tells us in 1 John 2:16
For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.
Revelation 12:9
So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
We will never NOT have this battle, so we must wake up and smell the coffee.
One of the first things to remember is that the enemy likes to be stealth. Exposing him and his tactics is a sure fire way to see, pardon the pun, ALL HELL break loose. Our eyes must be opened to seeing our real enemy and how he operates.
I am reminded that prayer for God's protection is paramount when going deeper, behind the supernatural scene, and understanding what we are really fighting. No good military goes into battle without understanding their opposition and working out a plan of defence! This is not a game. No football strategies will work here, this is WAR!
No one is beyond reach. From the most spiritual leader to the new Christian, we are all under attack.
Ephians 6 reminds us...
12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age,[c] against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
As Christians we need to always be on red alert and not be caught napping.
2 Corinthians 10:4
For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds...
1 Peter 5:8
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
It is when we get complacent that we are in trouble, a lazy Christian, one that is not in the Word, praying and in fellowship, is like the weak and wandering prey, lost and vulnerable to being captured, caught and destroyed.
I embark on this Bible study as a personal wake up call, with excitement, alertness, and much prayer! Our God is an awesome God!
James 4:7
[ Humility Cures Worldliness ] Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
1 John 4:4b...He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
We do not need to fear, but need to be armed as Paul tells us in Ephesians's 6: 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
So don't be surprised if you seek to get closer to God,when unexpected accidents happen or arguments start before church with your loved one, they are not your real enemy, but we know who is.
When you lift the curtain of the supernatural, behind it is a great and real battle in an unseen world, for your very life. Take every thought captive. Grab it and realise the culprit. Don't fall prey to the tricks and schemes of the evil one.
Proverbs 10:12 Hatred stirs up strife, But love covers all sins.
Pray for Gods wisdom, guidance and protection as you study his Word to gain a better understanding of what you can't see that can hurt you.
2 Timothy 2:22 Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
This is the evil day. We are armed. Now Christian stand! AMEN!
